Jowai, June 23: Following the repair of the dilapidated NH6 from Tongseng to Ratacherra, the JAC called off the road blockade of the highway on Saturday night.
The JAC, comprising of 11 villages and civil societies, had called for the road blockade from the June 19 after NHAI’s failure to repair the said portion of the road.
Saturday night, after repeated requests to reopen the road and the completion of the repair from Tongseng to Ratacherra, the JAC decided to lift the blockade and reopen the highway.
The Chairman of the JAC thanked the Dolloi of Elaka Narpuh, the NGOs and public for their support.
