Thieves pull off Hollywood-style heist, stealing goods from moving vehicle at Umiam Highway

Shillong, Feb 18: A viral video resembling a scene from a Hollywood movie shows four people stealing from a moving mini-truck on the highway in the Umiam area of Ri-Bhoi district.

From the viral video, it is seen that two people were stealing goods believed to be onions or potatoes from a moving mini-truck and placing the stolen items in a traditional Khasi bag (pla ïew), while two others followed the mini-truck on two Ntorq scooter, both with Meghalaya registration plates.

Just before reaching the Umiam Bridge, where repair work is ongoing, one of the thieves jumped off the vehicle as police personnel were present at the bridge.

Meanwhile, the other person remained stuck in the vehicle while another rider continued to follow.
