NESO chairman, Samuel Jyrwa asked the centre to initiate dialogues between all the stakeholders to work towards sustainable peace. He also lashed out at the government of India stating that the people has been facing political injustice.”We’ve been saying this again and again, generation after generation, that the government of India only gives us political injustice, but central governments have denied that they are giving us political injustice,” said NESO chairman.

He added that the incident in Manipur is a very unfortunate incident and that as NESO, they felt that the government of India has failed terribly to address the situation in Manipur.

“We have called upon the government of India to resolve the issue. But till today, it seems that the government of India is still turning a blind eye and a deaf ear to the sufferings of the people of Manipur. How long will this go on? How long will we allow this to carry on?” Question Jyrwa.

Meanwhile, leaders from other student groups also gave their speech. Chongtham Thangamba Meitei, president of Shillong Manipuri students’ Union said that the pain of what has been happening in their homeland was painful for all the communities. He urged all communities to come together to fight and end this violence together.
