Rs 2 lakh to each youth to become self-employed: Assam CM

Guwahati, Sep 22: The Assam government will start a new scheme that will provide financial aid of Rs 2 lakh to each youth to become self-employed.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that registration for the scheme, ‘Mukhya Mantri Atmanirbhar Asom’, will begin from September 23–24.

The announcement was made via video conferencing held by CM Sarma along with the Chief Secretary and senior officials from the conference hall of Assam House in New Delhi.

CM Sarma said ‘Mukhya Mantri Atmanirbhar Asom’ is set to benefit an impressive two lakh youths in the state. The scheme’s registration process is scheduled to commence on September 23–24, opening doors to a bright future for Assam’s young population.

The primary objective of this visionary scheme is to foster self-sufficiency and entrepreneurship among the youth of Assam. By providing substantial financial assistance, the government aims to equip these young individuals with the necessary resources to establish their own ventures and become self-independent contributors to the state’s economy.

The ‘Mukhya Mantri Atmanirbhar Asom’ scheme is expected to usher in a new era of entrepreneurship and innovation in Assam, harnessing the energy and creativity of its youth to drive economic growth and prosperity.

The launch of ‘Mukhya Mantri Atmanirbhar Asom’ signifies a significant stride towards empowering Assam’s youth and fostering a culture of self-reliance and entrepreneurship.
