Shillong, Sept 17: In a tragic incident, a woman was forced to deliver her baby inside the ambulance in West Khasi Hills after the vehicle wasn’t given a way to pass through a traffic jam.

The incident turned tragic, as the newborn could not survive and died, and the condition of the woman is said to be critical.

The woman is currently undergoing treatment at NEIGRIHMS .

The ambulance was stuck for hours due to heavy congestion caused by the people in the area, and the video of the incident has gone viral on social media.

In the video,  people in huge numbers can be seen rushing to attend a fishing competition in Pamphyrnai, Ksehkohlong.

Despite several attempts made by the ambulance to make way for its movement, the people failed to give way.

Ambulances not given way raise concern for the safety and well-being of individuals in need of urgent medical attention.

The incident also highlights the need for better awareness and stricter enforcement to ensure that emergency vehicles can navigate through congested areas without hindrance.
