Shillong, June 16: Family bid a tearful farewell to Stefani Lyngdoh Nonglait, a pregnant mother who tragically died under mysterious circumstances in her residence on Thursday.
On Friday, her final rites were conducted at the Presbyterian Church in Lawmali, where grieving family members gathered to say their heartfelt goodbyes. Prayers for justice echoed throughout the somber occasion, seeking answers not only for Stefani but also for her unborn child. Strong suspicions arose among many relatives, pointing to her husband as the potential perpetrator.
During the poignant eulogy, an uncle from the Lyngdoh Nonglait clan expressed his astonishment upon discovering significant discrepancies between the testimony provided by the deceased’s supposed husband to the family members and the statement given to the police on the day of the incident. This revelation has cast doubt on the husband’s credibility and deepened the family’s concerns.
On June 15, the police took the alleged husband into custody, marking a pivotal development in the case. An ongoing investigation aims to uncover the cause of Stefani Nonglait’s death and determine the alleged involvement of her husband in this tragic event.
