SHILLONG, SEPT 17: The United Democratic Party (UDP) on Thursday came down heavily on its senior leader and West Shillong MLA Paul Lyngdoh for publicly questioning the party’s leadership.
Reacting sharply, UDP general secretary Titosstarwell Chyne said Lyngdoh has been raising the leadership issue ever since the recent reshuffle of ministers, but has failed to attend party meetings to discuss it internally.
“First of all, I don’t understand why Paul keeps on questioning the leadership issue, that too right from the day there was a reshuffle of ministers,” Chyne said.
“If he had been serious about it, he should have attended the meetings. We had called meetings from time to time, but he never attended them. Only the last CEC meeting he attended — that is the only meeting he attended in this one year. So, I don’t understand why he is questioning the leadership issue,” he added.
