Shillong, July 16: Two persons have been sentenced to life imprisonment for committing sexual assault on a minor victim.
In its judgment passed on June 25, the court of the Special Judge (POCSO) , West Khasi Hills, Nongstoin, has convicted Mebanlang Warjri and Tony Paul Basaiawmoit.
The convicts have been sentenced to undergo life imprisonment and pay a fine of Rs 50,000 each.
The case was registered in 2017, and the investigation was conducted by WPSI D.P Nongbri.
