Itanagar, July 19: Tripura CPI(M) MLA Samsul Haque from Boxanagar Assembly Constituency died after suffering a cardiac arrest in the wee hours of Wednesday.
According to reports, Samsul Haque fell ill on Tuesday late at night and was rushed to GB Pant Hospital, where doctors, after preliminary treatment, declared him dead.
Haque, who was 68 years old, had been actively involved in politics for several decades and was known for his dedication to serving the people of Tripura. His sudden demise has left the CPI(M) and the entire state in shock and mourning.
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha expressed his condolences on Facebook and wrote, “I am deeply saddened by the demise of Honourable MLA Samsul Haque of Boxnagar Assembly Constituency. I pray for the eternal peace of his departed soul. Also, my deepest condolences to the bereaved family”.
He also informed that he has decided to cancel all his government programmes on Wednesday following the demise of member of the Tripura Legislative Assembly Samsul Haque.
