According to the Ri Bhoi District Police, a complaint was received from Kirit Dohtdong of Mawlang village, who reported that her spouse, Iohborlang Kharsatia, along with two friends, Kostrarwel Jyrwa and Samsul Ali, had been kidnapped by an unknown group while they were in Guwahati to purchase a JCB (excavator). She received a phone call from her spouse’s number, with the kidnappers demanding over ₹7 lakh for their safe release.
