Shillong, May 3: Ri-Bhoi Police arrested three drug peddlers and seized suspected heroin during a late-night anti-drug operation at Umsning on Friday night.
Based on credible inputs, police received information that a drug supplier, Wellborn Khongjoh alias Bull, was travelling from Nongpoh to Shillong with two associates, carrying suspected contraband for sale. Acting swiftly, a team from the Ri-Bhoi District Executive Force intercepted a Maruti Baleno (registration number ML-05AB-9902) at around 9:45 pm near the Nongthymmai junction along National Highway-6.
A thorough search of the vehicle and its three occupants— identified as Wellborn Khongjoh of Kynjoin Umran, Fedrick Kharkrang of Shangbangla and Pascal Kharkrang of Shangbangla—led to the recovery of approximately 10.9 grams of suspected heroin.
All three individuals were immediately taken into custody.
Police have registered a case, and further investigation is currently underway.
