Shillong, Sep 9: In a dazzling display of grace and glamour, the prestigious Miss Meghalaya and Miss Teen Meghalaya 2023 grand finale concluded on Saturday evening at Shillong’s U Soso Tham Auditorium.
Out of 19 overall contestants from all across the state, Stella Khongsni emerged victorious, claiming the coveted title of Miss Meghalaya 2023. But Stella is not just a pretty face; she’s also a brilliant mind. She’s currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Mathematics at St. Mary’s College, Shillong. She wowed both judges and onlookers alike with her charm, intelligence, and impeccable style, taking home the titles of Miss Personality and Miss Catwalk as well.
The title of Second Runner-Up was awarded to Sanijaijai Khyriem, while Lamiker Dkhar was crowned as the First Runner-Up.
Meanwhile, the enchanting Angelina Jackson, a youthful 18-year-old with an undeniable charm, was crowned Miss Teen Meghalaya 2023. Angelina is a student at St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong. Out of 18 contestants Angelina’s youthful beauty and smartness captured the hearts of the judges and the audience alike.
Denice Kharkongor secured the title of Second Runner-Up, while Gracie Nandy proudly claimed the First Runner-Up position.
Stella, on winning the Miss Meghalaya Crown, was also awarded a cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh. Meanwhile, Angelina, the Miss Teen, took home a cheque of Rs. 25,000.
Other talented young teens who were awarded with subtitles include Genelia Dkhar, who walked away with the title of Miss Catwalk, and Palei M. Chyne, who dazzled as Miss Talented. Gracie Nandy, with her captivating personality, rightfully claimed the title of Miss Personality, and Denice Kharkongor was declared Miss Photogenic, proving that beauty indeed knows no bounds.
In the Miss Meghalaya category, the competition was fierce, but the subtitle winners include: Stella Khongsni, the winner of Miss Meghalaya 2023, also secured the title of Miss Catwalk alongside Miss Personality.
Ibadonbok Shisha Marwein showcased her exceptional talents, earning her the title of Miss Talented. Dipa Ghime displayed the heart of a warrior princess, earning the title of Miss Warrior Princess, and Labakeni Surong was crowned the most photogenic, winning the title of Miss Photogenic. Sanijaijai Khyriem was crowned Miss Fusion Queen, Rida Maia won the Eco Queen crown with pride, and Remika Dkhar was celebrated as Miss Congeniality.
The esteemed panel of judges, including Ilasara Kharkongor, Charlee Lalthenmawia, Ketholeno Kense Vehienuo, Mr. S. Marwein, and James Owen Farreira.
The winners of both Miss Meghalaya 2023 and Miss Teen 2023 will represent the state in prominent beauty pageants across the North East and nationally.
