Shullai extends Rs 1 lakh financial aid to orphanage

SHILLONG, DEC 16: Cabinet minister Sanbor Shullai on Tuesday extended financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh to Ferrando Transit Home cum Children Orphanage Home Mawdatbaki Mawlai Shillong during its advance Christmas and New Year celebration held at the premises of the institution which has a number of 87 children.

In his speech, Shullai praised the institution’s members and staff for organizing the event and emphasized the importance of serving humanity, quoting the Holy Book, “Service to people is Service to God.”

While handing over financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh to the institution, the minister said, “I am very happy to be a part of this moment of joy and happiness.”

The event featured a range of performances by the children, including Christmas songs, a skit on the birth of Jesus Christ, and various competitions.

Earlier, Sister Dalina Francis G welcomed the guests, and Naphi Laso, Deputy Chief Legal Aids reform council, delivered a life enlightenment speech.
