Shillong’s Cathedral Parish asks churchgoer to be vigilant following theft attempt at parking lot

Shillong, April 19: Shillong’s Cathedral Parish Laitumkhrah has been hit by a car break-in incident. In a CCTV footage released by the Parish authorities, an unidentified man was seen suspiciously hovering around parked cars during the Sunday Holy Mass service.

The footage shows the individual attempting to break into the cars parked in the Parish parking lot.

According to sources, the same person has been spotted almost every Sunday during the Holy Mass service. The footage has been circulated online to create awareness and urge people to be vigilant about the safety of their vehicles as there have been cases of theft in the parking area.

After reviewing the footage, the Parish authorities have filed an FIR at Laitumkhrah Police Station against the unidentified man.

The police have launched an investigation to identify and arrest the suspect. The authorities have also urged churchgoers and visitors to be careful and report any suspicious activity in the parking lot during church services.
