Shillong, Oct 6: Shillong police have arrested one person in connection with assaulting Meghalaya’s Ranji Trophy cricketer Lakhan Singh.
In a statement, SP (City), East Khasi Hills, Vivek Syiem informed that one miscreant was arrested on Friday in connection with the cricketer’s assault. The SP also informed that the accused is being produced in Court for Police custody.
It may be recalled that Lakhan Singh, a Ranji cricket player, was assaulted on the night of October 4, 2023 by a group of miscreants near Anjalee Cinema Hall while he was on his way to Jhalupara. A car overtook his scooty and asked him to stop after which some miscreants came out of the car and started assaulting him. As a result of which, he sustained minor injuries on his face.
The Police are trying to nab others involved in the case.
