Shillong Engineering College blaze: CM orders probe, damage check

SHILLONG, JAN 15: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma informed that the government is assessing the extent of the damage caused by the fire incident at Shillong Engineering College on Thursday morning.

Speaking to reporters, Sangma said that the fire was promptly extinguished and no other floors were affected.

“I don’t have the full details with me, but I can tell you that the fire was promptly extinguished and no other floors have been affected,” he said.

Sangma expressed relief that there were no casualties reported in the incident. “By God’s grace, there was no casualty reported… but yes, there has been some damage, but I don’t have the full report with me,” he added.
