Senior IPS Officer Idashisha Nongrang takes over as New DGP of Meghalaya

Shillong, May 20: Senior IPS Officer Idashisha Nongrang took oath as the new Director General of Police (DGP) Meghalaya on Monday.

IPS Nongrang is the first woman IPS officer to head the Meghalaya police. Prior to this appointment, she served as Director General of Civil Defence & Home Guard in Meghalaya.

A 1992 batch IPS officer, she replaced Dr.LR Bishnoi, who officially retired from office on May 19.

DGP Nongrang will serve in the post for a fixed tenure of two year from May 20, 2024, until May 19, 2026.
