Rapture: Dominic Sangma’s award-winning film to premiere in Shillong

Shillong, Oct 18: The critically acclaimed film Rapture by award-winning director Dominic Megam Sangma is set to be screened in Shillong from 7th to 11th November, 2024. The exclusive event is being organized by the Art and Culture Department of the Government of Meghalaya in collaboration with Fraternity Art Cine Entertainment Shillong (FACES).

Rapture has garnered international attention, recently being showcased in 150 theatres across France, where it received widespread praise for its powerful storytelling and stunning visuals. The film, rooted in themes of cultural identity and human emotion, draws heavily from the rich landscapes and traditions of Meghalaya, making its screening in Shillong particularly significant.

Screenings will be held at U Soso Tham Auditorium with three daily showtimes at 12:15 PM, 2:40 PM, and 5:15 PM. Tickets will soon be available for presale, allowing early access to the much-anticipated event. Further information about ticket availability is expected to be released shortly.

This initiative by the Art and Culture Department aims to promote local filmmakers and celebrate indigenous storytelling, while FACES continues to bring the best of global and regional cinema to Shillong audiences. The screening of Rapture offers a unique opportunity for viewers to experience a homegrown cinematic masterpiece that has already captivated audiences abroad.
