Shillong, Nov 3: Deputy chief minister Prestone Tynsong held a meeting on Friday with the three autonomous district councils in the state on the digitization of land records.

Tynsong mentioned that the GOI, through the Department of Land Resources, is willing to fund this project where they want each citizen to digitalize their land.

“So now we had a detailed discussion and decided that responsibility should be entrusted to the three ADCs who will be the implementing agency in their respective jurisdiction,” said Tynsong.

A project management unit (PMU) will also be formed, which will be headed by the head of the department of DCA, and its members will be from the revenue department. All the respective DCs and all the district councils will be part of this PMU.

“We have decided that once this process is complete, all three ADCs will have to implement this digitalization throughout the state,” added Tynsong.
