“We are here to serve, not to be used as a punching bag,” Paul Lyngdoh

Shillong, June 26: Cabinet Minister and MDA spokesperson, Paul Lyngdoh, on Thursday urged pressure groups to exercise restraint and handle sensitive issues like the interstate boundary dispute with greater responsibility. He cautioned them against using the State government as a target for criticism.

Providing an update on the recent incident in Lapangap, Lyngdoh said that Deputy Chief Minister in-charge of Home, Prestone Tynsong, has been kept in the loop and that the government is actively working with its Assam counterpart to resolve the matter.

Reacting to the criticism from pressure groups, Lyngdoh said the border issue has persisted for decades and cannot be resolved overnight. Instead of attacking their own government, he appealed to the groups to work together and find common ground. “We are here to serve, not to be used as a punching bag,” he stated.
