Aizawl, Aug 20: Mizoram has set up its first health ATMs, giving people the option to check key health parameters without stepping into a doctor’s chamber. The kiosks were launched on Monday at Civil Hospital Lunglei and PHC Lungsen under the Healthy Lunglei Initiative.

The ATMs, powered by Internet of Things (IoT) technology, offer free tests for 35 parameters, including blood pressure, sugar, BMI and ECG. Results are generated instantly and sent to users’ mobile phones, creating a digital health record at no cost.

Health Minister Lalrinpuii said the move will make basic diagnostics accessible in rural areas and reduce the gap with urban healthcare.

The project is backed by a tripartite MoU involving MVS India, the Lunglei DC’s office, and ABCI Infrastructures Pvt. Ltd. CSR partners ABCI and BRN are funding procurement and upkeep, while MVS India is handling installation, training, and technical support.
