SHILLONG, DEC 9: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma has maintained a neutral stance on the recent Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids in Garo Hills, saying that it is not for the government to react or interfere in the matter.

“There is nothing for the government to react to, it is an agency that does its job independently. It will be wrong for the government to react or interfere in any way,” Sangma said on Tuesday when asked about the ED raids.

When pressed for more information, the chief minister reiterated that it is for the ED to investigate and not for the government to interfere.

“That is for the ED to find out, we are not investigating it. It would be wrong on my part to even interfere or to find out what’s happening. It is an independent agency and it will do its job.”
