Shillong, Nov 21: NITI Aayog has renewed its development push in Meghalaya as Member Dr. Arvind Virmani wrapped up a two-day visit marked by consultations with6 government officials, community leaders, and local enterprises.

Dr. Virmani’s visit centred on accelerating Meghalaya’s growth through sustainable agriculture, agro-industrial expansion, stronger financial inclusion, and improved fiscal management. A major emphasis was placed on scaling skill development rooted in local livelihoods, especially for youth and women.

Strengthening digital connectivity in remote areas also emerged as a key priority—considered essential for empowering Farmer Producer Groups (FPGs), Self-Help Groups (SHGs), and rural entrepreneurs.
