Shillong, Aug 10: Meghalaya ultramarathoner Dakahi Kyndait has won the women’s 100K category at the One Hundred® Ladakh – Trail to Heaven 2026, part of the One Hundred Ultra Endurance Trail World Championship.
The 2026 edition, held from August 6 to 8, brought athletes to one of the world’s most demanding high-altitude trail-running environments. The event featured 100K, 100-mile and 42K races, with much of the course situated above 3,500 metres in Ladakh’s rugged Himalayan landscape.
The 100K course follows the Markha River through high-altitude valleys and mountain terrain, with significant elevation gain and challenging conditions that test both endurance and acclimatisation.
Congratulating Kyndait on her victory, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma described her as a seasoned marathoner who has consistently performed strongly and won several competitions over the years.
In a post on X, Sangma said he was happy to have supported Kyndait’s sporting journey and wished her continued success in future competitions.
