Meghalaya witnesses inclusivity in electoral process

Shillong, April 19: Inclusivity was prioritized for the Lok Sabha elections 2024. In Meghalaya, a third-gender individual cast their vote in Khliehshnong A.

Three third-gender voters have been registered as third gender in the electoral roll out of the total electorate of 2,217,100 in the state.

Female electorates outnumbered their male counterparts, with 1,122,150 female voters compared to 1,094,947 male voters out of the total electorate.

With a total of 3,512 polling stations, 326 were situated in urban areas and 3,186 in rural areas. Meghalaya votes with zeal, giving due importance to inclusivity in the electoral process.
