Meghalaya makes 3 changes to squad for fourth U-23 Col CK Nayudu match

Shillong, Nov 3: The senior men’s selection committee of the Meghalaya Cricket Association (MCA) has made three changes to the state squad in the U-23 men’s Col CK Nayudu Trophy for the fourth match against Rajasthan.

The multi-day match is set to begin on November 8 in Jaipur.

Promoted to the elite level after finishing second in the plate group last season, Meghalaya have lost their first three matches against big opponents – Punjab, Andhra Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh.

The match against the latter saw Meghalaya lose by an innings and 229 runs as they could only muster 173 across two innings. Josiah Momin (40) and Swastic Chettri (33) showed the most promise with the bat, while five out of six bowlers used took wickets in Himachal’s only innings, with Gulgul Sangma producing the best figures of 3/51.

For the upcoming fixture, the selectors have included Rohit Kr Yadav, Sachin Kumar and Kush Agarwal in place of Aman Kumar, Avinash Rai and Purav Agarwal.

Meghalaya squad against Rajasthan: Kevin S Christopher (C), Manish Sharma (V-C), Rohit Kr Yadav, Sachin Kumar (WK), Abhishek Kumar, Kush Agarwal, Gulgul Sangma, Gavineal J Marpna, Bipin Kr Ray, Josiah Momin, Joydeepan Deb, Banialam Mylliemngap, PM Santhosh, Thunun Marak (WK), Swastic Chettri.

Standbys: Agreas Cham Cham Sangma, Navin K Ray, Aman Kumar, Bharat Gurung, Raghav Magotra.

Support staff: Neetesh Sharma (Head Coach), Synrapsing Riahtam (Assistant Coach), Emidao Dhar (Physio), Skhembor Khongbtep (Trainer), Chuba R Marak (Manager).
