Meghalaya govt releases Rs 12.44 Cr to pay pending salary of SSA teachers

Shillong, July 5: Meghalaya Education Minister, Rakkam A Sangma on Tuesday informed the SSA Schools Association that the Education department, Govt of Meghalaya is working to release two months salary for the month of April and May to SSA teachers by next week of July.

The salary for the month of June will be released later, Sangma said.

He also informed the Association, that the State Finance department have released fund of Rs.12.44 Crore, this is the fund for the 1st instalment for payment of Arrear Salary of financial year 2016-17 to SSA teachers.

Meghalaya SSA Schools Association (MSSASA) president Aristotle C Rymbai said in a video statement that “Yesterday (July 4), the education minister Rakkam A Sangma has informed the association that the state finance department has released Rs 12.44 crore being the first instalment for payment of pending arrear salary for the financial year 2016-17 to all SSA teachers.”

C Rymbai also said that the education minister has informed that the sanction order for payment of Arrear Salary to SSA has been sent to all respective districts with instructions to all the District to transfer the same to the personal account of all SSA teachers.
