Shillong, Jan 10: A massive fire broke out in the Mawbah area of the city on Tuesday evening, destroying many houses in its rage.
This is the second incidence of fire involving houses in the city in a span of 12 hours.
Till the filing of this report, the cause of the incident had not been ascertained. There was also no update on the loss of property and causality.
Police and Fire Department had arrived at the scene but due to narrow roads in the area and crowd, they were facing difficulty in reaching the epicentre of the fire. Despite this, many fire engines were at the scene and trying hard to douse the fire.
