Imphal, July 19: A five-member TMC delegation reached at Manipur to hear all the communities of the state who were affected during the ethnic violence.

The TMC delegation will try and meet all groups, all communities and will hear all sides in the valley and the hills.

“They would first visist Churachandpur by helicopter. In thr evening they would visit Imphal valley affected areas,” said a leader of TMC.

The TMC delegation was comprise Rajya Sabha leader Derek O’Brien, Rajya Sabha MPs Dola Sen and Sushmita Dev and Lok Sabha MPs Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar and Kalyan Banerjee.

Speaking to media persons, TMC leader Sushmita Dev said, “It was extremely unfortunate that the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi in the last assembly polls said that peace is the main reason to vote for BJP. But today it is seen that the BJP in the centre and state has failed to contain the violence in Manipur. I have seen that that the people of Manipur has taken shelter in the relief camps of Silchar. We have seen that thousands of people were living in relief camps and we would visit to all the relief camps,”.

Dev said, “After Mamta Banerjee’s instruction, we have visited Manipur to hear the communities. We will visit all the camps and hear everyone,”.

The Trinamool Congress has been alleging that the “divisive” policies of the BJP-led governments at the Centre and in Manipur have led to ethnic strife.

A five-member TMC delegation was scheduled to visit the ethnic strife-torn Manipur last week but decided to postpone it to July 19 following a request by the Manipur government.
