Shillong, March 29: The residents of Malki Lum Balang apprehended one person by the name Inamul Haque (25) on Wednesday evening for allegedly sexually molesting three girls, which included two minors.
According to sources, the accused, a permanent resident of Barpeta, Assam, is a manual labourer working on repairing of locality roads at Malki.
According to a relative of one of the victims, the incident occurred when the girls were passing through the area and Haque made a move on them. The girl immediately rushed and informed her family about the incident, who promptly notified the local authorities of Malki Lum Balang.
The accused was later handed over to Laitumkhrah Police Station for further action.
