Shillong, June 6: The Hid Foundation observed its 14th anniversary in a programme held at the State Convention Centre, Shillong on 5th june, 2026
The day began in the morning with the Foundation celebrating World Environment Day. During the session, speakers highlighted the growing need for environmental conservation, waste management, and community participation in protecting natural resources for future generations.
At 2 PM, a session was held on the history and journey of the Foundation and its unit organization, Risyon Sports Club. The valedictory programme was attended by the Additional Deputy Commissioners of East Khasi Hills District, Smt. D. Kharshiing MCS and Smt. Pretty K. Sangma MCS, along with the Vice-Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi University, Meghalaya.
The event highlighted many activities of the Foundation. It also gave youth participants an opportunity to showcase their leadership by providing them a platform to share their stories, helping them become more self-reliant.
In the evening, the programme was attended by Shri Rakkam A. Sangma, Chairman of MREGC and Former Minister of Education, and Shri H.M. Shangpliang, Adviser, Government of Meghalaya, Director of School Education & Literacy Shri B.J. Kharshandi MCS. Also present were Chief Engineer PHE (Urban) Shri D.D. Umdor, Assistant General Manager, SBI Administrative Office Meghalaya, Assistant Director of Government Press Shri T. Sungoh, Rtd DHO Smt. F.N. Sunn, MAS, and Shri T. Marweiñ MCS, Assistant Commissioner & BDO, Mylliem C&RD Block, among other officials, members of the Hid Foundation family, and Risyon Sports Club.
During the programme, the Foundation released a documentary video on projects implemented by the Foundation and another documentary video on Risyon Sports Club. Two books were also released: 1) Risyon Programme Information Book, highlighting the programmes and initiatives of Risyon Sports Club, and 2) SBI’s Impact – Our Journey, an effort by Hid Foundation highlighting its collaboration with SBI under its CSR policy.
