Heroin worth ₹1 crore seized in Shillong, Woman held

Shillong, Sept 6: The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of Meghalaya Police carried out a raid late Friday night at a rented house in Nongrah Nongpdeng Shg, leading to the recovery of a large quantity of heroin.

The raid was conducted at the residence of Ms Nengneilhing Khongsai (41), where police recovered 18 soap boxes filled with suspected heroin, weighing 218.94 grams in total. Officials said the contraband is valued at approximately ₹1 crore in the illicit market.

The accused has been detained, and a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act is being registered.
