Shillong, Feb 6: The National People’s Party (NPP) candidate from Mylliem, who is also the former C&RD Minister, Hamletson Dohling on Monday said he is confident of being re-elected to the assembly as many supporters from other political parties in Mylliem have joined him ahead of the upcoming Assembly Elections.
Accompanied by thousands of supporters, the NPP candidate from Mylliem filed his nomination papers on Monday in front of the R.O at the Office of the Deputy Commissioner (DC), East Khasi Hills, Shillong.
While speaking to reporters, Dohling expressed confidence in getting re-elected to the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly.
Assuring that if he is re-elected, he will definitely take up the ILP issue and follow-up on it and other issues like inclusion of Khasi and Garo Language in the Eighth schedule.
“People in Mylliem constituency know me by name and they will vote in favour of my name,” he said.
Dohling recently joined NPP. He was a PDF member and was the former cabinet minister in the MDA govt. He was in-charge of Urban Affairs department.
Refuting allegations that he was not accessible to his people, Dohling mentioned that his house was open 24/7 to the people.
