Family confirms body as missing 7-year-old from Nongrah

Shillong, Oct 9: The family of the seven-year-old boy, Kynshanbor Kharmudai who went missing from Nongrah on October 8 has formally identified the body recovered near NEIGRIHMS on Wednesday morning as that of their child.

Earlier today, a passerby discovered the body at Lum Rumnong, Mawpat, around 10:30 am. Police and forensic teams immediately visited the site and began investigation. At the time, authorities had not confirmed the identity and were awaiting the arrival of the boy’s relatives.

The child had gone missing around 4 pm on Tuesday, prompting an intensive search by family members, residents and authorities late into the night and into the following morning.

Police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the boy’s death.
