DRDO conducts successful field evaluation trails of made in India Anti-tank Missile

Guwahati, April 14: The Indigenous Man Portable Anti-tank Guided Missile (MPATGM) Weapon System, developed by the DRDO, has successfully completed field evaluation trials. The evaluation included rigorous testing of the MPATGM, Launcher, Target Acquisition System, and Fire Control Unit, showcasing its cutting-edge technology. With multiple successful missile firings and warhead flight trials, the system has demonstrated its superiority.

The Tandem Warhead System’s successful penetration trials, proves its capability to defeat modern armor-protected main battle tanks. Equipped with day and night top attack capabilities, the MPATGM emerges as a formidable addition to tank warfare strategies.

Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh has extended congratulations to DRDO and the Indian Army for the milestone achievement, emphasizing its significance in advancing India’s self-reliance in defense technology. Secretary of the Department of Defense R&D and Chairman of DRDO, Dr. Samir V Kamat, also commended the teams involved in the successful trials.

The system is now poised for Final User Evaluation Trials, paving the way for its eventual induction into the Indian Army’s arsenal. This development marks a significant stride in India’s quest for indigenous and advanced defense systems.
