Tura, April 14: In a landmark achievement, doctors at the Williamnagar Civil Hospital successfully removed a massive 7kg ovarian tumour from a woman on Friday (April 14, 2023).

The operation was carried out by a team of expert doctors led by gynaecologist Dr. Vince Momin, who was assisted by anaesthesiologists Dr. Conrad Marak and Dr. Dipali Sangma, and EMOC specialist Dr. Mepalchi Sangma.

The woman had been suffering from severe abdominal pain and discomfort for months before seeking medical attention. After undergoing various tests and scans, she was diagnosed with a large ovarian tumor that needed immediate surgical intervention.

The procedure, which lasted for several hours, required precision and skill from the entire medical team. The surgery was successful, and the patient is currently recovering well under the care of the hospital staff.

The hospital staff, including the nursing team of Eulyn Marak, John Marak, and Pringchi Marak, played an instrumental role in providing care and support throughout the entire process.

The successful operation comes as a major news for the people of the area as people have to travel far to get such operations done, with most travelling to Guwahati. At the same time, this is also a reflection of the major steps taken by government in bringing medical facilities nearer to people.
