Shillong, Sep 14: Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma has stated that they have not yet finalized the dates for the discussion on the second phase of boundary talks with Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
While addressing reporters on Thursday, Sangma mentioned that their discussion with the Assam Chief Minister on the previous day was an informal one, during which they had the opportunity to delve into specific details.
He added that they expect to confirm their program and dates within the next few days.
Emphasizing the need to work, discuss, and coexist peacefully and harmoniously with the neighboring state, he acknowledged the presence of challenges and complexities. He stressed that confrontation is not the way to resolve these issues.
Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma had an informal meeting with the Assam Chief Minister Himata Biswa Sarma on Wednesday at Shillong, discussion on the border issue and decided to formalise confidence building measures before conducting a joint visit to the areas of difference in October.
