Congress terms poll outcome as a mandate against Prime Minister Modi

Delhi, June 4: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Tuesday termed the poll outcome as mandate against PM Narendra Modi.

He said that the people of India have voted for Congress and I.N.D.I.A alliance to safeguard democracy.

“Congress party had encountered significant obstacles, including its accounts being frozen and innumerable targeted attacks. Despite these challenges, the party remained resolute in its commitment to protect the Constitution”, he said.

Addressing a press conference in Delhi to thank the people for faith in Congress alliance, he said, “The Congress campaign primarily addressed pressing issues such as unemployment and development, and the people have shown their faith on us.”

The party accused the NDA of employing illegal tactics, including the imprisonment of Chief Ministers and the misuse of government agencies.

Rahul Gandhi expressed gratitude to the alliance partners. “The fight was to save the constitution. I thank the alliance partners. We have taken the first step towards saving the Constitution.”

“The Congress party remains steadfast in its mission to address critical national issues and uphold democratic values despite the adversities faced during the campaign,” he added.

On asked, if the party would try to form the government, he said, “The alliance partners would meet tomorrow and take the final call”.
