Tura, July 6: Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) MDC, Akthar Ali, has once again come under scrutiny as another complaint has been filed against him for allegedly abandoning a Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) road project.

The complaint, lodged by the Zikzak Unit of the Garoland State Movement Committee (GSMC), has accused Akthar Ali of neglecting his responsibilities regarding the road project that was assigned to him prior to his tenure as an MDC.

This recent complaint follows a previous one filed by local residents against Akthar Ali concerning another pending road project under the PMGSY scheme.

The new complaint, addressed to the Deputy Commissioner of South West Garo Hills, point out the incomplete Mahendraganj to Aningpara, Domapara, and Katuligre PMGSY road in the South West Garo Hills region.

GSMC said the unfinished road has become a source of significant inconvenience for the local community, as it has turned muddy and difficult to traverse. Additionally, construction materials are scattered on both sides of the road, hindering those who wish to avoid the muddy terrain.

In light of these issues, the GSMC has urged the Deputy Commissioner to intervene and ensure the timely completion of the road.
