Guwahati, Jan 25: Elite commandos of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) have launched extensive counter-insurgency operations deep inside the jungles of Arunachal Pradesh along the porous India–Myanmar border to ensure peaceful Republic Day celebrations.
As India prepares to mark its 77th Republic Day, security has been significantly tightened across sensitive and vulnerable pockets of the border state. The CRPF continues to play a pivotal role in anti-insurgency and area domination operations aimed at preventing militant groups from exploiting the festive period to carry out subversive activities.
During ongoing operations, CRPF commandos have consistently demonstrated a high degree of tactical professionalism and operational precision, effectively denying insurgent elements any opportunity to disrupt national events, such as Republic Day and Independence Day.
Heavily armed and combat-ready, the teams are equipped with sophisticated weaponry, including AK-series rifles, under-barrel grenade launchers, light machine guns, mortars and rocket-propelled grenades. A highly trained Belgian Shepherd sniffer dog is also deployed to assist in detection and tracking during jungle operations.
Before each mission, the officer leading the operation briefs the team on objectiv. Afterwards,n, after which the commandos move stealthily through dense forest areas to locate and neutralise potential threats.
Joint operations involving multiple security agencies are currently underway in the Tirap–Longding–Changlang (TLC) region of Arunachal Pradesh to thwart any untoward incidents and ensure the celebrations pass off without disruption.
