Guwahati, June 8: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday arrested a member of the radical Meitei group Arambai Tenggol at Imphal Airport for his alleged involvement in the ethnic violence that rocked Manipur in 2023.

The arrest marks a significant development in the CBI’s ongoing probe into the violence, being conducted under the supervision of the Supreme Court. The accused has been shifted to Guwahati in Assam, where all trials related to the Manipur violence have been relocated due to prevailing law and order concerns in the state.
