Shillong, Oct 12: A weapons exhibition was organized by the Border Security Force (BSF) at Bakur area in West Jaintia Hills District on Wednesday.

The exhibition, which displayed the latest defence weapons and equipment used by the BSF to thwart anti-national elements, was part of celebrating Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.

More than 500 people including school children attended the programme and were offered to have glimpses of the modern weapons possessed by the BSF. During the event, the children were thrilled to have a close look on such weapons and to know about the capabilities of these lethal weapons.

Earlier, while speaking as chief guest on the occasion, Aphonous Khonglah, general secretary of Bakur, appreciated the initiative taken by the BSF.
