‘Black Bolero’ driver arrested for series of public sexual harassment allegations in Shillong

SHILLONG, OCT 26: A 42-year-old man identified as Tamdorlang Risaw was arrested on Saturday for alleged sexual harassment and stalking in public places around Laitumkhrah, Shillong.

The incidents, which date back to May 2025, involved the driver performing obscene acts in public view, causing distress to those present.

The police received two separate FIRs on October 15, 2025, and launched a coordinated operation to trace and apprehend the accused. Risaw, a resident of Nongrah Block-II, was arrested at Tawang, Mawsynram, and the Java-coloured Bolero (ML05P 7884) used in the offences was recovered, East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police (SP) Vivek Syiem said.

The accused will be produced before the competent court for further legal proceedings, he added.
