Shillong, June 14: With a focus on better performance in 2028 elections, the BJP has affected a rejig for its Meghalaya unit for 2025-2028 even as it ruled out possibility of pulling out of the National People’s Party (NPP)-led Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) government – 2.
“As party prepares itself for future election in the state, the national president JP Nadda has approved a new state team to oversee the organizational preparation for 2028 elections,” BJP state president Rikman G Momin told reporters at a news conference held on Saturday.
“Inside organization, sometimes, we have to see how to run the party. As a party, I am head of the party and I have to see how party goes. I have to change for some who are inefficient working for the party,” he added.
Whether the party is considering withdrawing support from the NPP-led government in the state, Momin said, “That depends on the central leadership.” He said any decision on this aspect will be answered by the central leaders.
