SHILLONG, OCT 15: BJP Meghalaya has announced 10 new state cells as part of its organisational expansion, with state president Rikman G Momin leading the exercise.
State Cells Coordinator Deeya Rathore and Co-coordinator Arvind Yadav were present during the announcement.
The party said it has roped in former legislators, senior advocates, doctors, retired officers and professionals as convenors and co-convenors.
Economic Cell will be headed by former MLA Mohendro Rapsang, Intellectual Cell by Dr Krishna Chauhan with former MLA Dr Jemino Mawthoh as co-convenor, and Legal Cell by Senior Advocate S.P. Mahanta with Advocate Deimonmi Dkhar as co-convenor.
Professional Cell convenor is Amit Sharma, Cultural Cell convenor Monica Chanda with Hanaliza Thangkhiew as co-convenor, Medical Cell convenor Dr Indrani Bhattacharjee with Dr Rita Tariang as co-convenor, and Ex-Servicemen Cell convenor Capt Anand Thapa (Retd) with Lt Col (Dr) Rakesh Puri (Retd) as co-convenor.
Anil Kumar Bajaj will lead Traders Cell, Uday Narayan Shukla Sports Cell, and Iaishah Rymbai Weavers Cell with Marian Maring as co-convenor.
The inclusion of experienced personalities will strengthen the party’s growth in the state, BJP said.
