Dibrugarh, Oct 23: A devasting fire gutted 30 huts at Dhobi patty near BNP school in Amolapatty area in Dibrugarh on Wednesday evening. No casualty has been reported in the incident.
Due to narrow roads, the fire brigade was unable to access the site, but locals managed to bring the fire under control through their efforts.
According to sources, two LPG cylinders exploded during the fire.
“Valuable documents and property worth lakhs were damaged in the fire. Most of the people whose huts were doused in the fire belongs to poor section,” said an official.
He said, “The cause of the fire is yet unknown but investigation is going on.”
