Assam Human Rights Commission visits residence of Junmoni Rabha

Guwahati, May 19: A seven member team of the Assam Human Rights Commission led by Santanu Bharali visited the house of late Sub-Inspector of Police, Junmoni Rabha, who died in a road accident in Nagaon district.

The member expressed condolences to the bereaved family and talked to the mother of Late Junmoni Rabha.

Her mother expressed sorrow and suspected foul play in the death of her daughter. She informed that the police personnel visited her house after the incident and made a house search.

Bharali expressed his belief that the Government of Assam through the police department will be carrying out a proper investigation into the matter and justice will be done to her daughter and assured her that the Commission will also be taking stock of the investigations.

The members were accompanied by Phanidhar Deka, Under Secretary, Swarnali Hore, Section Officer, Arunjit Singh PS to the Commission, Debajit Borah, Accountant and J Tapan Barooah, Research Assistant.
