He added, “After taking shelter at a house in Sukchar, she proceeded to Dhubri by boat where she was intercepted. A manhunt is underway to trace other accomplices and other infiltrators.”

Speaking to media persons, Lipi Akhtar said, “We came in a bus from Bangladesh upto Kuri gram and after that we walked a long way to enter India. We have crossed three rivers before entering India. A total of 17 persons came with us. Last night my husband was separated from me and they took away all my belongings.”

On the other hand, Assam police apprehended three Bangladeshi nationals on Monday night who had entered into India through Tripura.

The individuals were identified as Md. Abu Shaid, Asadul Islam and Md Sarwar. All three of them were from Rajshahi district of Bangladesh.
