Ampareen, Marcuise and Paul appointed official spokespersons of MDA-II govt

Shillong, March 9: Meghalaya Government on Thursday appointed Cabinets Ministers- Dr M Ampareen Lyngdoh, Marcuise Marak and Paul Lyngdoh – to be the official spokespersons of the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA)-II.

The three Cabinet Ministers will officially be the spokesperson of the MDA-II apart from Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma and Deputy CM Prestone Tynsong, informed the Chief Minister after chairing the first cabinet meeting of the MDA-II government.

However, on the portfolios, the Chief Minister informed that the official notification will come out in the afternoon of Thursday.

Asked if the Ministers will be appointed based on certain criteria, the Chief Minister said that the criteria will be looked into to ensure balance in the government. Criteria like overall individuals experience, works and interests that an individual possesses. “But, it’s not always that everything will go according to anybody’s personal desires or wishes,” added the CM.

“We will have to take the team along and we have to take what is in the best interest of the state and so, therefore, keeping the interest of the state and balancing out the entire work of the government is what is going to be the main criteria,” he further said.

It may be mentioned that NPP being the single largest party has 8 seats in the cabinet, whereas 2 belong to UDP, 1 to BJP and 1 to HSPDP.
