Shillong, July 30: The PA Sangma International Medical College & Hospital (PIMC), a constituent institution under the University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM), has announced the commencement of admissions for its MBBS program for the academic session 2025–26.

As per a notification issued by the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Government of Meghalaya, eligible and interested candidates can submit their applications online through the official portal—www.meghealth.gov.in—by 12 noon on Thursday (July 31). The first round of counselling is scheduled to be held from August 1 to August 7.

PIMC, launched in October 2024, has quickly gained recognition as one of the most promising new medical institutions in Northeast India. With state-of-the-art infrastructure, experienced faculty, and a curriculum designed to blend academic excellence with community-based healthcare, the institution is fast emerging as a hub for modern medical education and patient care.

Chancellor of USTM, Mahbubul Hoque, underscored the institution’s commitment to transforming healthcare education in the region. “Our journey in healthcare began with the University Hospital of Ayurveda & Naturopathy, a world-class initiative. Now, with PIMC, we’re taking a bold step into mainstream medical education, committed to nurturing future healthcare leaders. We envision PIMC as a global destination for excellence in medicine and education,” he said.

USTM has established itself as a leading institution in higher education. It is the only private university in Northeast India to receive an ‘A’ Grade accreditation from NAAC during its first inspection and has been ranked among the top 200 universities in the country by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2024.

With its focus on holistic medical training, PIMC offers aspiring doctors not just a degree, but a foundation for a meaningful and impactful career in healthcare.
